mdm.exe is associated with Microsoft Windows process debugging system. It allows the user to debug Internet Explorer errors by using a script interface tool. This is a non-essential process. Disabling or enabling it is down to user preference.

Mdm.exe is the Machine Debug Manager, which is used by the Windows NT Option Pack and Microsoft Developer Studio to provide application debugging. When Script Debugging is enabled for Internet Explorer , the debug manager is initialized whenever Internet Explorer is started. The Machine Debug Manager runs as a service and is loaded when your computer starts. If you do not use your computer for debugging purposes, you can safely turn off the Machine Debug Manager (see link).

Note: The mdm.exe file is located in the folder C:WindowsSystem32. In other cases, mdm.exe is a virus, spyware, trojan or worm! Check this with Security Task Manager.

MDM.exe can stand for Microsoft Debug Manager, and was used by the the NT system. It should be found in C:WindowsSystem32mdm.exe. It can also be a trojan or worm.

Get Ad-Aware and SpyBot from download.com and run them both. Immunize your computer in SpyBot and get the latest definitions. Then let it run. If it is spyware, SpyBot will find it. Whatever it finds, click on Fix all problems.

Ad-Aware should also be updated as soon as it’s installed, and a full system scan run. it will find different kinds of ad and spyware. Whatever it finds, put a checkmark by each category and remove them all.

handles crashing programs and fatal errors
being that it is windows, you should keep it running =) … however, it is safe to stop the process.
